China successfully launched two new Beidou navigation satellites using the "one arrow and two stars" approach

At 20:29 on July 25th, Beijing time, China successfully launched two new Beidou navigation satellites at the Xichang Satellite Launch Center with the "Long March III B/Expedition No. 1" launch vehicle. After about 3.5 hours of flight, The "Expedition No. 1" upper level accurately sent two satellites into the intended orbit. The successful launch of the launch marks a solid step for the Beidou satellite navigation system to achieve global coverage.

The two satellites launched this time are all orbiting satellites in the Earth and the 18th and 19th Beidou navigation satellites launched by China. After the satellite is in orbit, it will carry out test verification work such as new navigation signals and inter-satellite links with the 17th Beidou navigation satellite launched in advance, and provide services in a timely manner.

The "Expedition No. 1" upper level is called the "Space Shuttle Bus". It is a first-class independent aircraft added to the launch vehicle. After entering the space, one or more spacecraft can be sent to different orbits. By adopting this mode of transportation, the spacecraft's own fuel consumption can be greatly saved, especially when performing the high-altitude spacecraft launch mission, the economic benefits are very significant. On March 30 this year, "Expedition No. 1" was put into use for the first time, and successfully launched China's first new generation Beidou navigation satellite into the orbit. Today's mission is the 2nd flight of "Expedition No. 1", and it is also the first time it has carried out the mission of transporting binary stars.

The satellites and launch vehicles launched this time were developed by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation and China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology. This is the 206th flight of the Long March series of launch vehicles.
