HTTP streaming technology can transmit high-quality video signals to Internet-connected TVs, set-top boxes and mobile terminal media playback devices via the Internet. The dynamic adaptive HTTP (DASH) streaming media standard recently announced by the 3GPP and MPEG working groups aims to simplify the deployment process of broadband video streams on different network infrastructures and terminal devices, introducing an open standardized solution in the industry to replace the market Many HTTP streaming media protocols that are exclusive to certain companies. DASH specifies the format used for content preparation and fast and efficient content adaptation tools. The standard supports stunt mode, multilingual subtitles and soundtracks, advertisement insertion and digital rights management technology to protect content, and is compatible with standard network servers and video buffering technologies.

This software video receiver based on ST-HHI DASH standard adopts sophisticated and advanced algorithms, according to the actual situation of the network, terminal equipment functions and user preferences to customize settings, automatically select the stream transmission rate, video resolution and file format to ensure The video stream is continuously transmitted to the player, bringing the best visual experience to consumers. By automatically adjusting the video streaming rate, the software can automatically correct the impact of bandwidth fluctuations on image quality, and can automatically select the video file format according to the type of terminal device, allowing consumers to watch 3D content on standard 2D display devices.

The ST-HHI 3D adaptive streaming media environment includes a video server, a personal computer equipped with a 3D display, and a thin client terminal device with a 2D display. The 3D video stream is generated on a remote server and transmitted to two terminal devices through the IP protocol. At the same time, the 3D video stream is automatically converted into 2D content on the thin client terminal device. The product prototype implements DASH technology through the GStreamer development environment. GStreamer is a popular multimedia development framework for personal computers and embedded platforms, which supports multiple media formats and streaming protocols.
