The smallest three-color LED chip with a mirror was born
ROHM announced that it has begun selling new products "MSL0301RGBW" and "MSL0401RGBW" with three-color LED chip LEDs with mirrors. The size of the new product is 1.8mm × 1.6mm, according to the company's introduction, this size is "the smallest in the three-color LED with mirror".
The new product is equipped with red, yellow and blue light-emitting elements in one package, enabling full-color illumination such as white. According to ROHM, the new product achieves the industry's smallest size while maintaining the characteristics of the mirror-mounted LED – “high concentrating and high brightnessâ€. In addition, ROHM succeeds in shortening the distance between the light-emitting elements by the self-developed wiring pattern, thereby achieving high color mixing which is indispensable for improving performance.
Using this new product produces ultra-fine, high-brightness LED matrices that help improve the expressiveness of entertainment products. The product's goal is to be equipped in entertainment and mobile products.
The MSL0301RGBW differs from the MSL0401RGBW in the number of pins, the former being 4 pins and the latter being 6 pins. Samples of the two products have been available since November 2011, and the sample price is 50 yen/piece.
